We're in the waning crescent balsamic moon for the rest of this week (January 18-21, 2023).
Under a balsamic moon each month, it’s a time to take extra care of ourselves. Since this balsamic moon is happening in Capricorn, it’s essential to chill out and relax. Which, by the way, can feel more challenging when the moon is in Capricorn.
Capricorn is the sign of authority and parenting, so this is a great time to be a good parent to yourself over these next few days. It will feel nurturing to tuck yourself into bed early, eat nourishing foods from the ground like root vegetables, and enjoy a walk outside to connect with mother earth. It’ll also feel good to be independent and on your own. Your inner parent might bring a “no-ifs-ands-or-butts” vibe.
Carving out some alone time can be soul food during a balsamic moon.
If we have a lot of things and responsibilities coming at us, we can get grouchy.
Our inner critic or task master can be loud under a balsamic moon in Capricorn. Keep this in mind if you have kids. If the inner critic does show up, see how you can become friendly with it. Get out your journal and get to know that internal critic. Foster a back-and-forth discussion.
This is also a reflective period to contemplate our journey through the moon's cycle over these past four weeks. In the Luminary Parenting Community, we track these things carefully and look at the story unfolding during the cycle. I hold members’ hands each day as we do this.
Be the first to know when the doors open next — probably May.
A New Beginning — Aquarius Style: Happy Lunar New Year!
The new moon at 1° of Aquarius happens on Saturday, January 21, at 3:53 pm Eastern Time.
It’s a good time of year to think about your goals and the future you envision for yourself. Because the new moon is in Aquarius, try to think outside the box in an unconventional way.
Think about these questions:
What’s popping up in your life right now?
What feels emotionally important about what you’re being shown?
How are you being asked to bring more of your unique self into the world?
Find 1° of Aquarius in your natal chart and see what house it falls in. That’s the area of life where there’s an opportunity for the next small step in your soul work.
The co-ruler of this new moon, Uranus, stations direct on Sunday so some (or all) of these themes could feel extra important right now:
-
Throwing out the old rules and making new ones that work for you
-
Going against the status quo and being different
-
Tapping into your personal genius, innovation, and contributing something vital to the future
-
Being open-minded
-
also… not giving a f*ck about what others think AND giving a f*ck about things like sustainability for a better planet
Sending you love as you slow dance with this balsamic moon.
🤍 Tara
