I have an Astro 101 lesson for you today.
Every morning while the house sleeps, I quietly trod outside to be with the moon. The other morning though, it felt so comforting to be in bed, savoring the texture of the covers, so I lingered a while.
I had gone to bed early the night before and didn't fall asleep right away (I’ll tell you why in a second).
Since I arrived for my morning moon ritual a little later than usual, the sun was coming up. And so I said hello to the Taurus sun and the sign on the eastern horizon — also Taurus, because that's where the sun is.
And I got to thinking of our rising sign discussion as we wrapped up the inaugural round of teaching The Luminary Parent.
Your rising sign is what you're learning to rise to in this lifetime. We had it when we were kids, and then we lose it, only to find it again later.
We have many lessons around our rising sign, and we grow to the highest expression of it.
I'm a Pisces rising, so the lessons I'm rising to in this lifetime are highest expression Pisces — intuitive, embracing and honoring my sensitivity, being meditative and creative, and intentionally doing nothing.
With the moon in Cancer over these past few days, I was feeling the tenderness. Since I’d just finished The Luminary Parent course — something I'd never done, I was relieved I could shift gears.
I slid into bed at 7:30 p.m. the other night with the intention of reading a book I’d been looking forward to diving into. Well, I read for five minutes and turned it over in my lap, thinking, this isn't what I need right now. What am I needing?
I felt intuitively that I needed to put the book down, lay there, close my eyes, and simply do nothing. And I did just that for almost an hour. Eventually, I drifted off into dreamland.
Both of those things — doing nothing on purpose and drifting off to dreamland are very Piscean. After all, that’s what I’m learning in this lifetime. Pisces lessons.
Even though I knew this was what I needed, some parts of me were objecting, thinking this wasn’t productive. You know, my Capricorn sun chiming in.
You can think about this for yourself and your kids too. Look up your rising sign and the highest expression of that sign.
The more you can be aware of your kids’ rising signs and allow for their _________ (insert your kid’s rising sign) energy, the better you support them on their path. You're offering them a tremendous gift simply by allowing and welcoming the energy of their rising sign.
To close this out, I invite you to play with these thoughts today…
I’m learning ______________ lessons in this lifetime.
My soul is learning ______________ lessons in this lifetime.
If you don’t know your rising sign or your kid’s, I teach all about this in The Luminary Parent course. We just wrapped up but I invite you to get on the waitlist to be the first to know when doors open in the fall.
Enjoy your weekend as we head toward the first quarter moon on Thursday.
💛 Tara
